It's been a dream of mine to drive down Pacific Highway 1 from San Francisco to Los Angeles for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure when that dream began but maybe my obsession with California started when I used to read Sweet Valley High in elementary school and wanted to have the "dream" life that Elizabeth and Jessica had in the fictional suburb of Sweet Valley which was oh so close to Malibu.
This year for our anniversary, S-Man's idea was to spend a weekend in San Francisco and then while perusing travel books, blogs and websites, it dawned on us that we should extend our visit for a full week to include a drive down the Pacific Coast.
Between a weekend in San Francisco, driving in and out of Santa Cruz, Marina, Big Sur, Pismo Beach and Ojai, and finishing our week off in beautiful Santa Barbara, it was the perfect anniversary week.
